OK, SO WE MAY BE PRETTY RUBBISH AT COMING UP WITH STRAPLINES FOR OUR BLOGS BUT ONE THING WE ARE EXCELLENT AT IS DIAGNOSING ISSUES WITH AIR SOURCE HEATPUMPS, OFTEN WHEN MANY OF OUR SO-CALLED COMPETITORS HAVE ALREADY TRIED AND FAILED!

 

We were recently called out to a lovely woman who had a Mitsubishi Ecodan Airsource Heatpump installed which had suddenly stopped working. The unit was only 3 years old (was installed as part of the new build development). The original installers were initially instructed to diagnose the problem. Their solution, unbelievably, was to supply and install a brand new ASHP at the cost of £15,000!

 

Thankfully, the homeowner was savvy enough to get a second opinion. We sent our Head Engineer to take a look at the error codes. The unit was indeed faulty as it had lost all its refrigerant. A simple call to Mitsubishi Technical Team confirmed that the unit itself was still well in the warranty period and by the end of the telephone conversation Mitsubishi were dispatching a new ASHP out to our customers address free of charge!

 

This begs the question. Did the original installers not know to call Mitsubishi to check the warranty status, were they just being lazy or was in plain old greed? None of these excuses are acceptable under any circumstances.
